Mivdak Privacy Policy

Effective July 28, 2026

Mivdak is an independent, offline iPad application operated by Itay Cohen for approved health research. It is designed for use by a clinician or researcher with adult participants in Israel who have already completed the study’s consent process outside the app.

Information handled by Mivdak

Mivdak stores the following information on the iPad:

Mivdak does not store participants’ names, national identification numbers, birth dates, postal addresses, email addresses, or phone numbers.

The study ID is also used in a separate research database. People who are authorized to access that separate database may be able to associate an exported Mivdak record with a participant. The data are therefore pseudonymized, not anonymous. Mivdak is not connected to that database and does not automatically exchange information with it.

How information is used

Information is used to administer assessments, preserve raw responses and results, support clinician review and correction, create clinician-requested exports, and conduct the approved research study. It is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or tracking.

Storage and security

Records are stored locally on the iPad using iOS file protection. Mivdak does not provide an online account or Mivdak server, does not use advertising or analytics services, and does not store health information in iCloud or include it in device backups.

The on-device working copy remains until the app’s data are erased, the app is removed, or the device is erased. The current version does not provide per-record deletion.

Export and disclosure

Mivdak sends no assessment data automatically. A clinician must explicitly request an export and choose a destination through the iPadOS share sheet. Mivdak does not select or validate the destination and does not confirm that the recipient received the file.

Exported data may be accessed only by people authorized for the approved study and used only for approved research and recordkeeping purposes. Mivdak does not sell participant information, share it with data brokers, or disclose it for advertising or marketing.

Study eligibility, informed consent, withdrawal, and ethics-review records are managed outside Mivdak. Mivdak is used only after the study team has confirmed that an adult participant is eligible and has consented.

The authoritative exported research archive is retained outside Mivdak for at least 15 years after the study ends, and longer if required by the approved study protocol, institutional instructions, or applicable law. A request to withdraw, access, correct, or delete research information is handled by the responsible researcher and may be subject to legal, ethical, or scientific record-retention requirements. Mivdak cannot process such a request automatically because it has no account or server.

This policy will be updated if Mivdak’s data types, purposes, storage, identification, export behavior, or responsible contact changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
